Konrad Wernicke 1969

As the son of the Chief Public Prosecutor Adolf Wernicke, Wernicke came from an old and well-known family of lawyers. Their ancestors were professors of law in Jena as early as the middle of the 17th century. After visiting the school Kreuzgasse in Cologne and the Empress Augusta-Gymnasium Koblenz he took the summer semester of 1924, the study of law and political science at the University of Tuebingen and renoncierte in Landsmannschaft Scotland . In 1928 he passed the trainee examination with distinction in Breslau . In the same year he wrote his dissertation on a topic of the law on notary fees, which was published that year in the magazine of the German Notar Association . The assessor examination, which was also passed with distinction in Berlin in 1931, was followed by a brief activity at the Reich Finance Administration in Hirschberg and Breslau. From 1933 to 1944 Wernicke worked as a judge at various Silesian courts, most recently in Gleiwitz .

In 1944 Wernicke left the judicial service to work in industry. At the Waldhof pulp factory - later Papierwerke Waldhof-Aschaffenburg AG -, where he joined the head office in 1944, he took over as director of the legal department and deputy head of personnel in 1955.

He was also interested in general industry concerns. This shows his participation in numerous industrial organizations and institutions. From then on Wernicke was particularly interested in the fundamental questions of commercial law; The focus was on company law and environmental protection. He influenced the development of water law by helping to shape legislation and by making numerous scientific contributions. He was also a member of the Institute for Water Law at the University of Bonn and an honorary member of the legal committee of the Association of German Paper Mills . In addition, he acted as chairman of the arbitration tribunal of the Wiesbaden Chamber of Commerce and Industry and in the Eastern Committee of German Business .

After Wernicke resigned from his position as chief lawyer at the Waldhof-Aschaffenburg paper mills in 1974 , he worked for the law firm Peltzer & Riesenkampff and CMS Hasche Sigle until 1999 .
