Konrad von Feuchtwangen (* before 1230; † July 4, 1296 in Prague ) was the 13th Grand Master of the Teutonic Order from 1290 to 1296.

Life

His origin from a Countess Oettingian ministerial family is likely, but it has not yet been possible to clarify a family relationship; His second successor in the Grand Master's office, Siegfried von Feuchtwangen, probably belongs to the same family .

Konrad von Feuchtwangen was first recorded in the year 1259 as provincial commander of Austria.

1258/1264 are first mentioned as "frater Conradus de Viuchtban / Vuchtwang". He was Komtur von Zschillen ( Wechselburg bei Chemnitz ), 1259 and 1271–1279 Landkomtur der Ballei Austria, 1279–1280 Landmeister in Prussia, 1279–1281 Landmeister in Livonia , 1284–1290 German Master , 1287 Komtur von Mergentheim .

In 1291 the city fortress of Akkon , where the seat of the order was located until then, was conquered by the Mamluks . Thereupon the order moved its seat to Venice .

Konrad von Feuchtwangen was buried in the Teutonic Order Church of Dobrovítov (Dobrowitow) near Časlau in Bohemia.
