The Krebsbach is a brook in the Ellwanger Mountains in the north of the municipality of Adelmannsfelden in the Ostalbkreis in northeastern Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the upper Bühler from the right after a 2.5 km run to the west near the Bühlerzell hamlet of Spitzenberg .

geography

course

The Krebsbach arises on the south-eastern boundary of the hamlet of Haid and on the edge of the forest of the Vorderwälder community forest at about 465  m above sea level. NHN . In the beginning of the forest upwards, a walking bed can still be seen for a few hundred meters above this origin, which is recorded on the official waterway map. From the edge of the forest, the stream runs very steadily to the west, for the first kilometer as a straight meadow ditch interrupted only by a piped section and a few crossings, which is often without a flow. On the crossing road from the hamlet of Stöcken on the left ridge of the hill to the patrician house on the right slope, the picture changes; now the brook flows in loops and is accompanied by an alder gallery. Less than half a kilometer further to the west he enters the forest, which he only leaves again at the L 1072 running to the right of the Bühler between Adelmannsfelden-Bühler in the south and Bühlerzell- Senzenberg . Immediately after crossing under the street, the Krebsbach flows out at about 405  m above sea level. NHN across from the Bühlerzeller Weiler Spitzenberg on the opposite edge of the river in the narrow floodplain from the right into the upper Bühler .

Catchment area

The Krebsbach drains about 0.8 km² of the natural area Ellwanger Berge westward to the upper Bühler. The catchment area is in the Mittelkeuper , for the most part in the Stubensandstein Löwenstein Formation . In the deeper valley of the lower half of the course, the creek bed lies in the Upper Bunter Mergeln ( Mainhardt Formation ) and finally in the silica sandstone ( Hassberge Formation ).

The catchment area is a two and a half to three kilometers long, nowhere even half a kilometer wide tube around the barrel. The east and west ends are in the woods, in the middle the landscape is open with occasional fields on the side hills and meadows in the hollow. The highest point is above the source at the eastern tip, where a hill possibly called Lehenberg in the Vorderwälder community forest up to about 483  m above sea level. NHN towers. Behind this there is a stream running east to Blinden Rot . Beyond the northern watershed, the Stockwiesenbach and the lower Uhlbach that absorbs it flow westward into the Bühler, parallel to the Krebsbach. On the opposite side of the ridge on the southern watershed, on which Stöcken sits, the Federbach flows through the Fuchsklinge and finally over the Ohrbach further up into the Bühler.

The entire catchment area lies in the northern Adelmannsfeld municipality. In it are the houses of the hamlet of Haid in the south, those of the hamlet of Stöcken in the north and the single courtyard patrician house.

Nature and protected areas

After the stream previously runs in a straight ditch with almost wood-free banks and briefly crosses a wet meadow in the strut , and then briefly runs again between tall shrubs, it shows small ones on the section north of Stöcken at the transition to the closed forest in a narrow alluvial forest with alders Meander .

The entire catchment area lies in the Swabian-Franconian Forest Mountains Nature Park . From the middle reaches the brook flows in the nature reserve Oberes Bühlertal and the surrounding area .
