The Ohrbach is a 1.6 km to 2.7 km long brook in the municipality of Adelmannsfelden in the Ostalbkreis in northeastern Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the upper Bühler from the right and east a little south of the hamlet of Stöcken in the municipality .

geography

course

The Ohrnbach arises, the official According waters card, between the Adelmannsfeldener farm groups Maeder and turning the court on the southwestern tip of the forest village of laughter to about 475  m above sea level. NHN . Aerial photos, on the other hand, show a ditch continuing uphill from here, which begins almost a kilometer further east as the crow flies, just within the border of the Mähder forest to the corridor between the hamlet of Ottenhof and Mäder. This runs westward, only slightly to the right ausholend by the Mähder , then crosses a grassy corner of the forest and then follows the southern edge of the village of laughter , until he reached the official origin after 1.1 km flow distance.

From here on it continues westwards through a now noticeably deepened meadow basin south of the Wendenhof, in a fairly directionally stable ditch and partly next to a wood gallery; the meandering boundaries of the adjacent properties suggest that an old meander has been straightened out. After less than 800 meters, he steps back to the edge of a forest and turns along this to the northeast. Then he crosses this forest for a distance of only 200 meters. At its other edge, its only significant tributary, the Federbach, flows roughly from the northeast. Then it crosses under the valley road next to the river and itself flows about 50 meters further about 500 meters south of the hamlet of Stöcken at 409.7  m above sea level. NHN from the right and east into the upper Bühler .

On the approximately 2.7 km from the beginning of its upper course ditch with a mean bed gradient of about 24 ‰, the Ohrbach loses around 65 meters in height, on the 1.6 km from the official origin it is still about 65 meters with a slightly lower mean bed gradient of 22 ‰ 35 meters in altitude.

Catchment area

The Ohrbach drains about 3.0 km² on the western edge of the Ellwang Mountains , which are part of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Mountains, to their border river Bühler. In the catchment area there is consistently Mittelkeuper . The highest point in it is near the top of the water tower a little northwest of Adelmannsfelden, where uniquely little over 490  m above sea level. NHN can be reached.

From here the watershed to the long Kocher tributary Blinde Rot runs in the east along the K 3242 northwards towards Bühlerzell - Kammerstatt . At the entrance to the forest, the borderline bends to the west, crosses the forest village area and then follows the road from the Eichhorn farm to the hamlet of Stöcken on a ridge behind which the Krebsbach runs in roughly the same direction to the Bühler. The west side of the catchment area is close to the Bühler river. The southern watershed from the hamlet of Bühler back to the water tower is followed by a road, the K 3324 to Adelmannsfelden; in the hollow behind it, the Zimmerbach also flows west to the Bühler.

Slightly less than half of the catchment area is forested, predominantly in the upper part in the village area , to a lesser extent around the lower reaches of the Ohrbach and especially its right tributary, the Federbach, which flows through the Fuchsklinge . The open corridors tend to be fields on the hills and almost only meadows in the hollows. The entire area belonging to the municipality of Adelmannsfelden is only sparsely populated with small hamlets and farms: the Wendenhof farm group stands on the middle ridge between the valleys of Ohrbach and Federbach, the Eichhorn farm and part of the hamlet of Stöcken on the northern border, the southern one divides the court group Mäder ; the hamlet of Bühler, which is also located, is just across the border.

Tributaries

  • Federbach , from the right and northeast to about 410  m above sea level. NHN on the L 1072 Abtsgmünd - Pommertsweiler - Bühlerzell next to the Bühler, 1.4 km and about 1.1 km². Arises at about 451  m above sea level. NHN a little west of the K 3243 at the beginning of the Fuchsklinge .

Protected areas

The hollow of the ear Bach belongs to the protected landscape Upper Bühlertal and surroundings . The spring pond of the left Federbach arm is a two-dimensional natural monument. The entire catchment area lies in the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park .
