The Pétervására District ( Hungarian Pétervásárai járás ) is a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the north of the northern Hungarian Heves County . It borders in the east on the district of Eger and in a small part (approx. 3 km) on the district of Bélapátfalva . The border is formed by Gyöngyös County in the south, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County in the northwest and Nógrád County in the west .

history

The district existed until 1983, after which it was replaced by the small area of the same name (Hungarian: Pétervásárai kistérség ). The small areas were dissolved again at the end of 2012 and the new Pétervására district emerged unchanged at the beginning of 2013 (with 20 municipalities) as the successor.
