Crucifixion Window (Ploemel)
The crucifixion window in the Catholic chapel of St-Méen in Saint-Méen , a district of the French commune of Ploemel in the Morbihan department of Brittany , was probably created in 1556. The stained glass window was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1917 as Monument historique .
The central window in the choir was created by an unknown workshop. It shows a crucifixion scene with the crucifixion of Jesus and the lamentation of Christ on three lancets (bottom center). Saint Méen is depicted on the lower left and the founder (kneeling) on the far right.
In 1902, when the window was restored by the Laumonnier studio, new panes were installed in the tracery . The last restoration by the Atelier Hubert de Sainte Marie took place in 1962.
