Pentecost window in Ploërmel

The Pentecost Window in the Catholic Church of St-Armel in Ploërmel , a French parish in the Morbihan department in Brittany , was created in the 16th and 17th centuries. The leaded glass window was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1907 as Monument historique .

The window was created by an unknown workshop. The current window was created from parts of two windows donated by Yvon Audren in 1533. The scenes Death of Mary (made in 1570) and Assumption of the Virgin Mary (made in 1602) were also inserted. In the tracery , the feast of Pentecost is represented with the sending of the Holy Spirit .

The apostle Peter with a key and Saint Anne can also be seen on the window . Founder Yvon Audren kneels down on the right, next to him is his namesake, Saint Ivo Hélory .

The window was restored by an unknown workshop in 1874 and by Jacques Bony in 1970.

In addition to the Pentecost window, other windows from the Renaissance period have been preserved in the church (see navigation bar).
