Wurzel-Jesse-Window (Guern)
The Wurzel-Jesse window in the Catholic basilica Notre-Dame of Quelven, a district of the French commune of Guern in the Morbihan department in the Brittany region , was created in the 16th century. The stained glass window was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1840 as Monument historique .
The window in the transept was created by an unknown workshop. It shows the root of Jesse , a widespread pictorial motif in Christian art of the Middle Ages and early modern times. The family tree of Christ is represented in the form of a tree that grows out of the figure of Jesse .
In addition to the Wurzel-Jesse window , the Christophorus window from the Renaissance period has been preserved in the church.
