The Root Jesse Window in the St-Vincent-St-Germain Catholic Parish Church in Saint-Germain-lès-Corbeil , a French commune in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region , was created in the 13th century. In 1908, the stained glass window was classified as a Monument historique .

The three meter high and 1.20 meter wide window comes from an unknown workshop. The root of Jesse is a widespread pictorial motif in Christian art of the Middle Ages and early modern times . The family tree of Christ is shown in the form of a tree that grows out of the figure of Jesse , the father of King David . Jesse is shown sleeping and further kings of Israel appear as the following branches of the tree . The conclusion is the presentation of Jesus Christ .
