Root Jesse window in Les Iffs

The Wurzel-Jesse window in the Catholic parish church of St-Ouen in Les Iffs , a French parish in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region , was created in the 16th century. The leaded glass window was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1906 as Monument historique .

It shows the root of Jesse , a widespread pictorial motif in Christian art of the Middle Ages and early modern times. The family tree of Christ is represented in the form of a tree that grows out of the figure of Jesse . The window has many missing parts that have only been partially renewed.

In addition to this window, eight other windows from the Renaissance period have been preserved in the church (see navigation bar).
