The Root Jesse window in the Catholic parish church of St-Firmin in Vineuil-Saint-Firmin , a French commune in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created in 1543. In 1886 the stained glass window was classified as a monument historique .

The two-part window in the choir is three meters high and 1.60 meters wide. It comes from an unknown workshop. The root of Jesse is a widespread pictorial motif in Christian art of the Middle Ages and early modern times. The family tree of Christ is shown in the form of a tree that grows out of the figure of Jesse , the father of King David . Jesse is shown asleep and the following branches of the tree appear to David and another eleven kings of Israel . The conclusion is the representation of Mary with child in the tracery .

The window was restored by Louis Steinheil († 1855) in the middle of the 19th century. The years at the bottom were added during later restorations.
