Kristina Iossifowna Paul ( Russian Кристина Иосифовна Пауль ; born February 22, 1998 ) is a Russian snowboarder . She starts in the snowboard cross discipline .

Career

Paul started the European Cup for the first time in December 2013 in Montafon and finished 23rd and 12th. The following month he won her first European Cup victory in Cortina d'Ampezzo . She made her debut in the Snowboard World Cup in January 2014 in Vallnord-Arcalís , which she finished in 39th and 37th. At the Snowboard Junior World Championships in 2014 and 2015 , she finished seventh and 32nd. In January 2015, she won the bronze medal at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Schruns and took 18th place at the World Championships on Kreischberg . At the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer , she took fifth place. In February 2016 she reached eighth place in Sunny Valley, her first top ten placement in the individual World Cup and became Russian snowboard cross champion the following month. At the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2016 in Rogla and 2017 in Klínovec she won the silver medal in team competition and the gold medal in snowboard cross. In the 2016/17 season she came in 17th place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup with two top ten placements. In December 2017 she reached her first podium finish in the World Cup with third place in Montafon together with Marija Wassilzowa . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she finished 12th. At the end of August 2018 she won the gold medal again at the Junior World Championships in Cardrona . In the 2018/19 season, she came 11th in the Snowboard Cross World Cup and 14th in the individual and team at the 2019 Snowboard World Championships in Park City . In March 2019 she won the gold medal at the Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk and became Russian champion in Sunny Valley.
