Krzysztof Zimnoch (* 6. September 1983 in Bialystok , Poland ) is a Polish boxer in the heavyweight division . It is managed by Tomasz Babiloński .

Amateur career

Krzysztof Zimnoch trained as an amateur among other things in the boxing department of the sports club Hetman Białystok . In the light heavyweight division he won bronze at Polish championships in 2002 and 2004, and silver in 2003. In 2005 he won gold at the Polish Heavyweight Championships. At the 2005 EU Championships in Cagliari , he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Alexander Powernow and at the 2005 World Championships in Mianyang in the preliminary round against David Dolan.

In 2006 he won bronze in the heavyweight division at the Polish Championships and also bronze at the 2006 EU Championships in Pécs , after losing to Roberto Cammarelle in the semi-finals of the super heavyweight division . In 2007 he was again Polish heavyweight champion and started at the 2007 EU Championships in Dublin , where he again lost to Clemente Russo in the semi- finals and won bronze. At the 2007 World Championships in Chicago he scored the most important victory of his amateur career with a win in the preliminary round against Deontay Wilder . However, he was eliminated in the next fight against Alexander Powernow. In 2009 he was again Polish heavyweight champion.

Krzysztof Zimnoch also started in international tournaments. He is the winner of the Feliks Stamm Tournaments held in Poland in 2005, 2008 and 2009 and won the silver medal at the same event in 2006 and 2007. He also achieved second place at the Ahmet Cömert Tournament 2005 in Istanbul and third place at the 2006 Chemistry Cup in Halle (Saale) .

Professional career

Krzysztof Zimnoch won his professional debut on February 20, 2010. In his first 24 fights he scored 22 wins, beating Oliver McCall , Gbenga Oluokun , Konstantin Airich and Michael Grant , among others . In addition to a draw, he suffered a knockout loss to Mike Mollo in February 2016, but won the rematch prematurely in February 2017.

On September 9, 2017, Zimnoch lost by knockout in the third round against the American Joey Abell and then temporarily ended his career. He only returned to the ring on November 23, 2019 and lost to his compatriot Krzysztof Twardowski by technical knockout (TKO) in the second round.
