Kuhla ( Low German Kuhla ) is a district of the municipality of Himmelpforten in the Lower Saxony district of Stade .

Kuhla is on the Hosterbeck .
Neighboring places are Himmelpforten in the northeast, Düdenbüttel in the west, Heinbockel in the southwest, Sunde and the Timmerlade in the south, Oldendorf in the east and Bossel in the northeast. To the north is the Neukuhla residential area belonging to Kuhla .

Kuhla is 500 m off the national road 114, which connects Oldendorf with Himmelpforten. To the south there is a small side road that leads to Sunde to Kreisstraße 72.

history
Kuhla was first mentioned in a document in 1059. The Kuhla manor , which was owned by the von der Kuhla knights , has been in the village since 1280 . It was sold in 1709 and changed hands several times. In 1828 Otto Christian von Gruben acquired the estate. The noble estate is still owned by the von Gruben family, who farm there . Mainly asparagus and Christmas trees are grown.
A wind farm has existed in Kuhla since 2009 . The four wind turbines have a combined output of 6.60 MW. The operator of the wind turbines is WKN Windkraft Nord AG .
Administrative history
Before 1885 Kuhla belonged to the Börde Oldendorf in the office of Himmelpforten . After 1885 Kuhla belonged to the district of Stade and since 1932 to the current district of Stade .
In the period before 1972 Kuhla formed with Breitenwisch and Himmelspforten a first Samtgemeinde Himmelpforten . This was dissolved in 1972 and Kuhla and Breitenwisch were incorporated into Himmelpforten on July 1, 1972. Himmelpforten was incorporated into the new municipality of Himmelpforten . On January 1, 2014, this merged with the joint community of Oldendorf to form the new joint community of Oldendorf-Himmelpforten .
