The Kuhnbach is an approximately 3 km long forest stream in the Rems-Murr district in northern Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the Fichtenberger Rot from the right in Großerlach- Böhringsweiler .

Source and history

The Kuhnbach arises on the eastern slope of the Steinberg south of Wüstenrot and a little northwest of the Seewiesen forest meadow , just on the Spiegelberger district at about 525  m above sea level. NN and there begins its constant course to the east. Soon he takes up the side branches of Gabelesbach , Greutbach (both from left), then Pflanzschulbach (from right) in a valley spider , all of which, at 0.6 km, are hardly shorter than himself. Further down the valley follow the Schloßweidenbach from the left and the Kuhstallbach from the right, roughly the same length. Then it is reached by its longest and right tributary, the Kohlbach, at 1.5 km . About 0.8 km further down the valley it emerges from the forest for the first time and then after a few hundred meters flows into an open field from the left at about 445  m above sea level. NN after 3.3 km run at Großerlach-Böhringsweiler in the Fichtenberger Rot .

Catchment area

The Kuhn Bach dewatered a closed forest area from the chain of black Jura crests Hermlesberg , Greut and Steinberg in south to west, the heights of up to 565.7  m above sea level. Reach NN , up to approximately K 1814 Wüstenrot - Böhringsweiler in greatest extent 1.7 km far to the north. In a west-east direction, it stretches about 2 km from the Steinberg to the tributary of the Kohlbach . The tributaries of the upper reaches here are fine and fanned out quite symmetrically. Below the catchment area, which takes up a total of around 3.3 km², narrows sharply, and the forest also contracts to a narrow strip that accompanies the stream.

In the northwest, the catchment area of the Tiefenbach- Oberlauf adjoins Rößbach ; further east, beyond the watershed that follows the route of the K 1814, other smaller streams flow to the Rot. In the east, a small tributary to the Rot competes at Altfürstenhütte, in the southeast the Rot tributary Großerlacher Bach . In the south of the Schwarzjurakuppe the ( Sulzbacher ) Fischbach drains with its tributaries to the Murr , in the southwest of which the Spiegelberger Dentelbach with its tributaries to the "Spiegelberger" Lauter .

Apart from Böhringsweiler in the Rot-Aue, the Bachtal is completely uninhabited. The rest of the settlement in the catchment area consists of a few farmsteads on the watershed in the north and the north-western, hillside districts of the hamlets of Neu- and Altfürstenhütte. The wooded upper course belongs to the community of Spiegelberg , at the tributary of the Kohlbach the brook crosses into the area of the community of Großerlach , to which all mentioned settlement areas belong.
