The Fischbach is on the main line along with its headwaters Schlatbach over 8 km long creek in the Rems-Murr in Baden-Württemberg , which is around a southern race in Sulzbach an der Murr from right at the beginning of its middle reaches in the Murr opens .

geography

Headwaters

The Fischbach arises on the eastern municipality border from Spiegelberg to Großerlach by the inflow of the 1.1 km long left brook from the (Lower) Mohrklinge into the up to this point 1.9 km long Schlatbach , the longest and most catchable upper course. This Schlatbach rises at about 540  m above sea level. NN on the southern edge of the open corridor on the hilltop Greut in the area of a slippery slope in the forest and flows mostly southeast, soon in a rapidly deepening notch valley typical for the sandstone keuper - Klinge , as they have created all the not very small tributaries of the Fischbach. A few hundred meters before the aforementioned Mohrklinge, the Schlatbach flows from the Greut in the north-northwest to the valley channel of the 1.1 km long Leukertsbach , while the Untere Mohrklinge begins near the outskirts of the hamlet of Kleinerlach in the northeast. Its 1.1 km long stream is the border of the two communities, which then continues after the confluence on the route of the now called Fischbach .

course

The Fischbach initially continues to flow in the direction of the Leukertsbach and adheres to south-south-east to south flow directions throughout its course. In its mostly still forested valley, it picks up numerous water-bearing blades from both sides. After the first larger right of these razor tributaries, called Scheidbach , the community of Sulzbach an der Murr Spiegelberg replaces as neighbors only to the right of the Fischbach . Shortly afterwards, an interrupted clearing begins on the left, Großerlacher slope. The hamlet of Mittelfischbach is the first settlement on the river in it, in the corner of the mouth of the Dachsbach , which runs down from the outskirts of Großerlach on the ridge, and further down the valley in the same position as the Ranzenbach, the hamlet of Unterfischbach. The Ranzenbach is in turn the municipality boundary, on this side to Sulzbach, in whose area the Fischbach enters here permanently.

The forest now initially fills the entire valley again, except for a few pieces of land on the valley floor. The next big left tributary Spatzenbach rises near Berwinkel on the left ridge, from where the federal road 14 begins its steep descent through an initially parallel side valley over the so-called Sulzbacher Steige. About a kilometer north of the outskirts of Sulzbach, the Fischbach changes into the open corridor on the edge of the Murrtal, about half a kilometer before that, next to the foot of the steep path, it takes its 2.8 km long and a partial catchment area of 2.4 from the left km² largest tributary Seitenbach , which drains the western part of the Great Femelwald through the Steigenklinge . At the edge of the settlement zone of the village, the Fischbach crosses under the B 14 in the area of the confluence of the state road 1066 from the upper Murrtal, crosses it mostly in a twisted way, and finally flows open again next to the Murrbrücke of the Bahnhofstraße from the left at about 263  m above sea level. NN into the Murr , which begins its middle course here shortly after its northernmost point at the Sulzbacher Linksbogen.

The Fischbach has, calculated with its upper course Schlatbach, a length of 8.3 km, its bed sinks on this route with an average bottom gradient of around 33 ‰ by about 277 meters in altitude.

Catchment area

The catchment area of the Fischbach is 14.2 km² and stretches as a tube that is only slightly bent to the right about 7.4 km from the summit of the Schwarzjurakappe Greut in a south-south-west to south direction to the confluence with the Murr in Sulzbach. The Fischbach runs a little closer to the right border at the beginning and at the end.

Beyond the very short northern watershed between the 562.5  m above sea level. NN high summit of the Greut - the most northerly point that the Fischbach drains - and that of the Hermlesberg ( 556  m above sea level ) the neighboring Kuhnbach flows eastward to the upper Fichtenberger Rot . Also behind the adjoining ridge in the northeast from there to the Schwarzjurakappe Altwald (up to 552  m above sea level ) a little southeast of Großerlach, the smaller streams on the other side, the Großerlacher Bach and the Fuchsbach, the Fichtenberger Rot; on this entire section the watershed is therefore a section of the more important watershed of the entire Murr system itself to the Rot and its receiving water Kocher .

On all other sides, from east to south back to north, the competitors drain directly or indirectly into the Murr. From the old forest, the catchment area border moves south on the ridge in front of the parallel Haselbachtal in the east to the Great Femelwald south of Sulzbach-Berwinkel, where it then bends southwest and runs quickly into the Murrtal to the mouth in Sulzbach. The right watershed that follows uphill there quickly climbs the right edge of the Murrtal to the Sturz , from where in the west the more important "Spiegelberger" Lauter, which flows a little downhill from the Fischbach into the Murr, receives the precipitation on the other side of the ridge, especially via its large left tributaries Siebersbach and Dentelbach .

The highest three elevations in the catchment area are the above-mentioned Greut, Herlesberg and Altwald. Two more peaks on the right above the upper valley in the high altitude clearing around Großhöchberg reach 531  m above sea level. NN and 535  m above sea level. NN , all others are below 500  m above sea level. NN .

Share of the catchment area have all three of the Rems-Murr belonging communities Spiegelberg in the northwest and north, Großerlach east of the middle course and Sulzbach an der Murr with the largest area in the south part. The only settlement areas in the long forest valley are Mittel- and Unterfischbach , two small hamlets of Großerlach, which are each near a left tributary - Dachsbach and Ranzenbach - in left slope clearings, and the main town of Sulzbach at the mouth in the open Murrtal. The Großerlach hamlet of Oberfischbach is located on the left upper slope , between the hamlet of Kleinerlach a little further north and the southern part of the main town of Großerlach itself further east on the left watershed. From there, federal road 14 runs south on the left ridge to the Sulzbacher Höhenweiler Berwinkel , from where this traffic route descends on the so-called Sulzbacher Steige, which is sometimes difficult to drive in winter, over the largest side valley of the Seitenbach to Sulzbach itself.

On the right watershed, the Sulzbacher hamlet of Kleinhöchberg is next to the middle section of the valley and the Spiegelberger Großhöchberg is next to the upper one, both at the end of the cul-de-sac from their community centers in the larger valleys.

With the exception of a few low-level clearing islands, the Flurinsel in the valley around Mittel- and Unterfischach and the part of the Murrtal, the drainage area of the Fischbach is consistently and therefore predominantly forested.

geology

The umbilicus upper reaches Schlatbach of Fischbachs produced in the region of a skid floe on the southern edge of the black Jura dome Greut which extend into the tuber marl ( Trossingen formation has set in motion). Soon it reaches the Stubensandstein ( Löwenstein Formation ), in which it continues almost to the inlet of the Rennenbach , followed by a short stretch in the Upper Bunter Marln ( Mainhardt Formation ). At the level of the Ranzenbach estuary, a strip of silica sandstone ( Hassberge Formation ) has already begun in the area of the clearing between Mitte and Unterfischbach, under which the stream will soon flow into the Lower Bunter Marln ( Steigerwald Formation ). About from the Wetzklingenbach begins on the right slope a moderately wide reed sandstone band ( Stuttgart formation ), which stretches up to the entrance to the Murrtal at the foot of the fall (approx. 556  m above sea level ), while here on the valley floor there is already the gypsum keuper ( grave field -Formation ) begins, in which the Fischbach now remains up to the mouth in Sulzbach. Because the "Spiegelberger" Lauter runs towards the Murr in the old sub- Danubian direction just below the Fischbach , the fall is a spur to the larger neighboring valley of the Lauter; the lintel, which is built on with newer parts of the Sulzbach settlement, is covered by quaternary gravel.

Away from the valley, the highest elevations in the catchment area - Greut ( 562.5  m above sea level ) in the north, Herrlesberg ( 556  m above sea level ) and Altwald (a little outside up to 552  m above sea level ) in the northeast and in the west are the nameless ones Heights around Großhöchberg ( 531  m above sea level and 535  m above sea level ) - all of the Black Jurassic peaks, whose layer contours trace the edges of the agriculturally used clearings that cover them very faithfully. Apart from these stratified islands and their narrow marginal borders of marl marls and sliding masses, step sandstone is everywhere on the heights. The blades tapering towards the Fischbach from the Rennenbach , on the other hand, also cut into the underlying Keuper layer package.

From the direction of the upper Dentelbach blade, two convergent faults move east-southeast to the ridge between Schlatbach- and Leukertsbachklinge and then united southeast to the inlet of the Mohr- or even the Murderblade; the deep floe lies on the southwest side, which is why the largest of the four Black Jurassic peaks around Großhöchberg is tectonically deeper.

Natural spaces

The largest part of the catchment area is one of the natural area Southwest Löwenstein Mountains in the far south it also share in the adjacent natural area Murrtal , both are sub-spaces of the Swabian-Franconian Forest mountains . The habitual self-classification of the landscape by the inhabitants of the mountain part can deviate from this, some count their places of residence to the unspecifically understood Mainhardt Forest , which is understood more narrowly in terms of natural space and is only adjacent.
