Kumlu is a district town in the Turkish province of Hatay . At the same time, Kumlu is the capital of the district of the same name . Kumlu is located in the east of the province and borders the Syrian Governorate of Aleppo . The city has 4,923 and the district 13,239 inhabitants (as of 2010). The formerly swampy area was released for settlement in 1945 and the swamps gradually drained. With the growth of the population, a mayor's office was established in Killik in 1968 and the name Kumlu (English: sandy ) was officially established. In 1990 Kumlu County was formed.
