Gunsan (also spelled Kunsan ) is an industrial city in the southwest of Korea . She is known for the Daewoo plant. Other industries that are mainly located on an artificially flooded area are chemical companies ( BASF , AkzoNobel ), mechanical engineering and automotive suppliers.
In the south of the city there is a marriage palace on a lake, over which a love bridge was built.
Gunsan is hardly developed for tourism.
From the port, a ferry to is Seonyudo - and Gogunsan Islands possible. Also hardly developed for tourism, but the islands offer beautiful scenic bays and hills.
In the immediate vicinity of the city is the Kunsan Air Base , a military base of the US Air Force , one of the US military bases in the Asian Pacific, next to Okinawa in Japan .
