The house became an art construction site for one month at a time. After the reconstruction, the first art exhibition took place on April 7, 2000 in Villa Kobe. With Silvia Hatzl, Antje Kobe, Merve and CA Wasserburger, four artists from Wasserburg / Obb presented. their works. Shortly afterwards, Stadtwerke Halle and Stadtwerke Leipzig awarded the Art Prize 2000 to the students of Burg Giebichenstein Halle and the University of Graphics and Book Art (Leipzig). Great art exhibition

An organizational peculiarity was the large art exhibition, which has been publicly advertised annually since 2002 as a curated exhibition for professional artists. The Great Art Exhibition in Halle (Saale) was held ten times between 2002 and 2011. 200 to 400 artists from all over the German-speaking area applied. Due to the integration of the previous year's winners, the jury, headed by Dagmar Schmidt as chairman of the artistic advisory board, consisted of a different jury and put together a nationally effective exhibition from the applications, documented in a catalog.

Every major art exhibition included an audience award given at the finissage and, since 2008, a prize given by the mayor of the city of Halle (Saale) in advance at the vernissage.

Audience award winners: 2002: Uwe Pfeifer ; 2003: Roland Fuhrmann ; 2004: Thomas Haufe; 2005: Stefan Passig; 2006: Juliane Duda; 2007: Piotr Sonnewend ; 2008: Carsten Klein; 2009: Sybille Feucht; 2010: Kai Hügel; 2011: Shige Fujishiro
