Kurt Naumann

Kurt Naumann , also Karl Naumann Skubowius , (born November 27, 1948 in Biere ; † February 11, 2018 in Berlin ) was a German theater and film actor .

Life

Kurt Naumann grew up in Halberstadt . He completed his acting training at the "Hans Otto" theater school in Leipzig . Then he had a. a. Theater engagements at Theater Freiberg / Döbeln , Theater Anklam , Theater Karl-Marx-Stadt and in Berlin's Friedrichstadtpalast . He later appeared as a guest at the Theater Basel .

In the early to mid-1980s he had a permanent engagement at the Anklam Theater, where he first worked with the director Frank Castorf . Under Castorf's direction he played the title role in Othello (premiere: November 1982), Sasportas in The Order (premiere: July 1983) and Kragler in Drums in the Night (premiere: July 1984). He also took on the role of Pedro in Brecht's Die Gewehre der Frau Carrar in the directorial debut of the actress and director Gabriele Gysi in the 1982/83 season . In the 1982/83 season he was a guest at the bat studio theater in Berlin as the postman Mario in Antonio Skármeta's play Brennende Patience . In the 1987/88 season he played at the Karl-Marx-Stadt theater a. a. Count Bellièvre in Maria Stuart and the son Peter Stockmann in Ibsen's An Enemy of the People (premiere: February 1988).

Since the early 1990s, Naumann has appeared as a member of the ensemble and a permanent guest at the Volksbühne Berlin , where he a. a. worked with directors Frank Castorf and Christoph Schlingensief . Naumann's Volksbühnen roles under the direction of Castorf included u. a. Spiegelberg in Die Räuber (premiere: 1990/91 season), Helicon in Albert Camus ' piece Caligula (premiere: 1999/00 season), Major Gröber in Pension Schöller (premiere: 1993/94 season), Kolasius in Golden the beam flows from Karl Grünberg / Heiner Müller (Premiere: 1995/96 season), the officer Hartmann in the devil's General (Premiere: 1996/97 season, alongside Corinna Harfouch as General Harras), the engineer Alexei Nilytsch Kirillov in demons (Premiere: 1999/00 season), Gawrila (Ganja) Ardalionowitsch in Der Idiot (premiere: 2002/03 season) and Jesus Christ in Der Meister und Margarita (premiere: 2002/03 season). As an "economic creature" and "billiard room beau" he appeared in Castorf's guilt and atonement staging. (Premiere: 2005/06 season). In the 2009/10 season he took on the role of the Flemish gallantry dealer Wesener and father of the main character Marie at the Volksbühne Berlin in a new Castorf production of The Soldiers .

Naumann also made guest appearances in Castorf's productions Demons and Guilt and Atonement at the Berlin Theatertreffen and the Wiener Festwochen .

In the 1993/94 season he appeared in the Schlingensief production Kühnen '94 at the Volksbühne Berlin . Bring me the head of Adolf Hitler! on. In the season 1994/95 he appeared as a young fist in Werner Schwab's Faust -Stück My chest fist :: My helmet at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam , next to Blixa Bargeld as Mephisto.

At the Berlin Criminal Theater Kurt Naumann also played in Wolfgang hull successful staging of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap , the role of the shady Italian Paravicini.

Naumann also worked in some DEFA film and television productions in the 1980s and 1990s . Naumann had his best-known film role as the 38-year-old architect Daniel Brenner in the 1990 film Die Architekten , in which he offered an “impressive portrayal” of the main role. In the DEFA film Banale Tage (1992), which won the Interfilm Jury Prize at the 1991 Max Ophüls Film Festival , he played the dramaturge Peter Wagner, the father of one of the two young male leading actors.

Later Naumann mainly concentrated on his theatrical work and only occasionally took over film and television roles. In Michael Klier's film Heidi M. (2001), he played, alongside Katrin Saß , the role of Winnie, the ex-husband of the female title figure who was desperate for his new, considerably younger and pregnant partner.

Naumann worked as a lecturer for scene work at the Schauspielstudio Berlin.

As only became known in November 2018, he died in Berlin in February of the same year.
