Kyoto Katsuki

Kyoto Katsuki or Kiyoto Katsuki ( Japanese 香 月 清人 , Katsuki Kyoto ; * September 25, 1954 ) is a former Japanese judoka . He was 1979 World Champion in the lightweight, the weight category to 71 kg.

Katsuki won the Tournoi de Paris in 1978 and finished third in the Jigoro Kano Cup . In 1979 he won the Kodokan Cup. At the 1979 World Championships in Paris he defeated Tamas Namgalauri from the Soviet Union in the semifinals and the Italian Ezio Gamba in the final . In 1980 he finished second in the Kodokan Cup. In 1981 he won the Japanese championships. At the 1981 World Championships in Maastricht, he was eliminated in the round of 32 against the Hungarian Sándor Nagysolymosi . At the end of 1981 he was third again at the Jigoro Kano Cup.
