The Lößnitz is a right tributary of the Nebel in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The upper course is called the Aalbach .

course

The Aalbach flows from a shallow lake southeast of Klaber, a district of the municipality of Lalendorf . The water-filled depression is bounded to the south by the Breite Berg (101 m above sea  level ) and to the east by the Pfaffenberg (100.7 m). The water level of the lake is just below 80 m above sea level. NHN. The drain is on the west bank.

The Schillersee flows through in a north-westerly direction . To the north lies the Radener See in the municipality of Lalendorf in the course of the Aalbach, further west after the village of Wattmannshagen is the Warinsee , which is flown through from southeast to northwest. From here to the mouth, the Lößnitz is part of the FFH area Nebeltal with tributaries. The subsequent course of the river is quite winding . After passing through a forest area and crossing under the Neustrelitz – Warnemünde railway line , Reinshagen is reached to the west. To the west of the village, the name of the body of water in Lößnitz changes , according to the official map , before crossing under the federal motorway 19 .

On the further way, which runs north of the federal highway 104 through a larger forest area, the municipality boundary from Lalendorf to Güstrow is crossed. The Bützow – Szczecin and Güstrow – Meyenburg railway lines cross the path. To the north of the Güstrow district of Klueß, the Lößnitz flows after about 30 km of the river at 9.2 m above sea level. HN into the fog, which drains the water further towards the Warnow and the Baltic Sea .
