Lü Huihui ( Chinese  吕 會 會  /  吕 会 会 , Pinyin Lǚ Huìhuì; born June 26, 1989 in Xinxiang ) is a Chinese javelin thrower .

career path

Lü graduated from Zhengzhou University .

Athletic career

Lü Huihui gained her first international experience at the 2012 Olympic Games in London , where she finished fifth in the final with 63.70 m.

At the 2015 World Championships in Beijing , she won the silver medal behind the German Katharina Molitor with a new Asian record of 66.13 m in the final , who she overtook with 67.69 m in the last attempt.

In 2016 she again took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and finished the final in seventh place with 64.04 m .

In 2017 Lü won the bronze medal at the World Championships in London with 65.25 m in the final .

In 2018 she improved her own Asian record to 67.69 m and won the silver medal behind her compatriot Liu Shiying at the Asian Games in Jakarta with 63.16 m . At the Continental Cup in Ostrava , Lü took third place with the Asian team, to which Lü contributed by winning over Christin Hussong in the individual. She also became a Chinese javelin champion.

In 2019, Lü took part in the Asian Championships in Doha for the first time and won there with a new championship record of 65.83 m and thus received a bye for the World Championships there in October. Before that, she improved her own Asian record in Huangshi by three centimeters to 67.72 m. At the world championships she won the bronze medal behind the Australian Kelsey-Lee Barber and her compatriot Liu with 65.49 m .

On May 29, 2020, Lü threw 64.34 m at an indoor meeting in Beijing, as far as no other javelin thrower worldwide under the hall roof.

She tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide on April 27, 2013 and was banned for one year for her doping rule violation .
