Li Lingwei ( Chinese  李 玲 蔚 , Pinyin Lǐ Língwèi; born January 26, 1989 in Binzhou ) is a Chinese javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Li Lingwei gained first international experience at the 2006 Junior World Championships in Beijing , where she finished eighth in the final. Two years later she won the gold medal at the Junior Asian Championships in Jakarta and the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, behind the Ukrainian Wera Rebrik . In 2009 she won silver at the Asian Championships in Guangzhou and bronze at the 2010 Asian Games . In 2012 she qualified for the Olympic Games in London and was eliminated there with 56.50 m in qualification .

In 2013 she won the Asian Championships in Pune and was eighth in the World Championships in Moscow . In 2014 she won silver at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon and at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing she was fifth with 64.10 m. In 2016 she again took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated from the qualification with 60.91 m . At the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar , she won the gold medal with a width of 63.06 m. She received a bye for the World Championships in London, where she won the silver medal behind the Czech Barbora Špotáková with 66.25 m .

So far she has been the Chinese javelin champion three times.
