Liu Shiying (born September 24, 1993 ) is a Chinese javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Liu Shiying gained her first international experience at the Junior Asian Championships 2012 in Colombo , where she won the gold medal with 53.02 m. She qualified for the Junior World Championships in Barcelona , where she won the silver medal behind the Swede Sofi Flink with 59.20 m . In 2015 she won the gold medal at the Asian Championships in Wuhan with 61.33 m . The following year she qualified for the first time for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated with 57.16 m in the first round . In 2017 she was eighth in the final with 62.84 m at the World Championships in London . In 2018 she won the gold medal at the Asian Games in Jakarta with 66.09 m and thus prevailed against her compatriot and Asian record holder Lü Huihui . At the 2019 World Championships in Doha, she won the silver medal behind Australian Kelsey-Lee Barber with 65.88 m .
