Location of Laßbruch in Extertal

Laßbruch is a district of the municipality Extertal in Ostwestfalen-Lippe with around 575 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2016).

location

Laßbruch is located in the northeast of North Rhine-Westphalia on the state border with Lower Saxony . The village is located a good 8 km south of Rinteln , 7 km northwest of Extertal - Bösingfeld and 6.5 km east of Kalletal - Hohenhausen . The surrounding neighboring towns are Silixen , Almena , Lüdenhausen , Heidelbeck , Göstrup , Kükenbruch and Krankenhagen .

history

In 1507 Laßbruch was first mentioned in writing as Lasszebroke . On the Buntenberg , southwest of Laßbruch, there are remains of stone and earth walls, the origin of which, however, has not yet been investigated in more detail archaeologically.

The new municipality of Kükenbruch was created on January 1, 1921 when it was spun off from the Laßbruch municipality.

On January 1, 1969, the previously independent municipality of Laßbruch was incorporated into the new municipality of Extertal.

Infrastructure

Several country and district roads run through the village; the Extertalstraße between Barntrup and Rinteln passes eastwards. The next motorway entrances are on the A2 motorway in Herford-Ost, Vlotho -Exter and Bad Eilsen .

The neighboring towns are mainly only served by bus lines on working days at core times and then usually only every hour. The networking and connection to surrounding places and cities by bus and train is only very inadequately developed.

The nearest national airport is in Hanover .

Economy and tourism

Today most of the employed commute to neighboring communities. Agriculture, which was not insignificant until the first half of the 20th century, is practically irrelevant.

The private specialist acute hospital Oberbergklinik Weserbergland for psychiatry , psychosomatics and psychotherapy is located in the village , founded by neurologist Matthias Gottschaldt . The clinic specializes in in-patient acute and crisis care and further, scientifically-based specialist therapeutic treatment of addictions, depressive disorders and fears, primarily for patient groups with high occupational stress (doctors, self-employed, managers, teachers), which is why the treatment of burnout Syndrome is another focus of the clinic.

There are several accommodations in the village. In addition to an extensive network of hiking trails, a Nordic walking course has also been laid out near the village. The publicly accessible outdoor pool is open in the summer months depending on the weather and is sponsored by a support association.
