Attractions

Santa Maria de La Befa
  • Santa Maria Assunta (also Cappella di Santa Maria Assunta ), former church / chapel at the southern end of the village. Until 1785 it was the seat of the Compagnia dell'Assunzione di Maria Vergine detta dei Celesti (mostly Compagnia dei Celesti ). In the 19th century the facade was changed to the north, before it faced east. At the same time, the area was doubled. The bell contains the engraving MDCCCLX (1860). The church contained the Trittico Assunzione della Vergine con San Tommaso tra i Santi Stefano e Sigismondo (also called Trittico della Befa or Trittico de La Befa ) by an unknown artist of the Siena School from the 15th century. The painting was acquired by the Italian state in 1972 and initially moved to the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena , today it is in the Museo di arte sacra della Val d'Arbia in Buonconvento .
  • Mulino della Befa , ruined mill on the Crevole river.
  • San Michele Arcangelo , church ( Pieve ) in Montepertuso, just north of the place, which was mentioned in 1214.
