La Dolfina (current name La Dolfina Hope Funds at the sponsor's request) is the name of an Argentine polo team, a polo club near Buenos Aires and a clothing company that makes sportswear for polo players.

Polo team

The La Dolfina Polo Team was founded in 1997 by Adolfo Cambiaso and Bartolomé Castagnola and is one of the most successful polo teams today. Lucas Monteverde and Mariano Aguerre have been other players since 2005 . The team only plays in Argentine polo tournaments.

La Dolfina has played at the Argentine Open since 2000 and has not reached the final during this time, only in 2004. In 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 the team won this prestigious tournament. After winning in 2007, Lucas Monteverde's handicap was increased to 10, so the team handicap is now 40. 2008 broke the winning streak when the team lost the final against Ellerstina ( Facundo Pieres , Gonzalo Pieres , Pablo Mac Donough , Juan Martín Nero ) 12-13 in overtime. In 2009 La Dolfina played again in the final of the Argentine Open against Ellerstina and won 17-16. La Dolfina has also won the Hurlingham Open four times , which is considered the second most important polo tournament in the world. and 2012.

In 2013, La Dolfina won the Argentine Triple Crown of Polo, considered the highest honor in the polo world, beating Ellerstina in the finals of the Tortugas Open and the Hurlingham Open and then Alegria in the final of the Argentine Open in Palermo . In 2014, the team won the Triple Crown again after beating Ellerstina in all three finals. With these victories, La Dolfina became the second team in the history of polo to win the Triple Crown in two consecutive years, after Coronel Suárez succeeded in 1974 and 1975.

La Dolfina polo club

The La Dolfina polo club was founded on September 28, 1996 in Vicente Casares, Cañuelas , Argentina . It is located about 60 km south of Buenos Aires in the province of Buenos Aires . The president is Adolfo Cambiaso. It has 4 polo fields and belongs to category "B". The polo club is associated with the Asociación Argentina de Polo .

The Copa Diamante and the Copa Zafiro are played there every year. The Copa Diamante was played for the first time in 2003, it is part of the WPT Challenge Cup and the team handicap is 22. The tournament will take place in November, in 2008 8 teams took part. The Copa Zafiro has existed since 2006 and the handicap is limited to 16. In 2008 8 teams also played there.

La Dolfina Polo Lifestyle

The company La Dolfina Polo Lifestyle produces outerwear for men, accessories and equipment for polo players (helmets, knee pads, boots and bags). It was founded in 2004 by Adolfo Cambiaso.
