Campeonato Abierto de Polo del Hurlingham Club
The Campeonato Abierto de Polo del Hurlingham Club , or Hurlingham Open for short , has been held since 1893. It is one of the world's oldest polo tournaments and the second most important polo tournament after the Argentine Open .
It takes place from late October to early November at the Hurlingham Club in the 60,000-inhabitant city of Hurlingham, in the greater Buenos Aires area . It is the second tournament of the Triple Corona of Argentine polo on the calendar .
Eight teams with a team handicap from 28 to 40 can take part. The six teams that played at the Abierto de Polo de Tortugas Country Club are qualified . In a qualifying round with four teams, additional starting places will be awarded to the two winning teams. These two teams will also receive starting places for the Argentine Open.
The winning team of the Campeonato Abierto de Polo del Hurlingham Club receives the Ayrshire Cup. The Vizw champion receives the John Ravenscroft Cup.
