Tina cleans up (original title: La sceriffa ) is an Italian western comedy from 1959. First performance in German-speaking countries was on September 9, 1960.

action

The residents of Rio Cinceio are harassed by a gang of outlaws led by the saloon owner Donovan. The sheriff tries to enforce the law; that costs the lives of the former Confederate soldiers. Then his widow Donna Carmela Esposito from Naples decides to take his place, determined to help the people of the city to their rights and to clear up the rabble. After showing her courage towards Donovan's right-hand man Blacky for the first time, she is appointed sheriff. Through her skillful use of the weapon, her courage and her southern Italian cunning, she manages to outsmart the gangsters time and again. Even with the help of good red wine, she succeeds in restoring peace in the village. Then she'd rather go back to Naples.

criticism

This is an “insignificant Western that tries in vain to ridicule relevant American genre films; neither entertaining nor funny ", so the lexicon of the international film . The Italian colleagues complain that opportunities are wasted because the film was shot “with few resources and too hastily”, although it could have been more pleasant with “more care and attention”. Christian Keßler notes that this 23rd film by the director is an example of “the comedies of that time that tried to pimp up the already grazed ways of the local comedy nobility by adding genre parodic elements”. Despite the inalienability of the predominant dialect jokes in the original, the film is "reasonably entertaining".

Remarks

The film song Colorado Joe is interpreted by Roberto Altamura .

The film grossed a quarter of a billion lire in Italy .
