Ladislav Prášil (born May 17, 1990 in Šternberk , ČSSR ) is a Czech shot putter .
Athletic career
Ladislav Prášil gained his first international experience at the 2007 World Youth Championships in Ostrava , where he was eliminated with 16.97 m in qualification. Two years later he was seventh at the Junior European Championships in Novi Sad with a width of 18.85 m and fifth at the U23 European Championships in 2011 in Ostrava with 18.41 m. The following year he qualified for the first time for the European Championships in Helsinki , where he was eliminated with 18.87 m in the preliminary round. In 2013 he won the bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg with 20.29 m behind the Serbs Asmir Kolašinac and Hamza Alić from Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the summer he took part in the World Championships in Moscow and classified himself in fifth place with a push of 20.98 m. In 2014 he took part again in the European Championships in Zurich , where he was eliminated from the qualification with 19.83 m.
In 2015 he won the bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Prague with 20.66 m behind the German David Storl and the Serb Kolašinac. At his third European Championships in 2016 in Amsterdam , he was unable to qualify for the final with 19.56 m. The following year he was sixth at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade with 20.73 m and retired from the qualification at the World Championships in London with 20.04 m .
In 2012 and 2013 Prášil became Czech champion in outdoor shot put and in 2017 indoor.
