Ladurnhof in Schlanders

The Ladurnhof (also Starkenhof or Trögerhof ) in Schlanders in South Tyrol is included in the community's medieval settlement stock . It can be assumed that the Ladurnhof was originally the same large farm that King Heinrich IV gave to Bishop Altwin in Brixen in 1077 as a possession in "Slanders". Together with the dialed Niederhofstraße and a Mure destroyed Carleitenhof the Ladurnhof 1164 went to the Benedictine monastery Marienberg . After that, the farm became the monastic Mairhof , which was entrusted with the administration of the monastic properties in the Silandro area. This is also where the dues, tithes and interest paid by the builders to the monastery were received. The incumbent Mair was also the sacristan of the St. Ingenuin Church belonging to the court .

The existence of the farm has been documented for the first time in 1427. This year, a Christoph Ladurner appears as a farmer. At that time, however, the farm did not have the name Ladurnhof, as this name was first used at the end of the 16th century under the captain and caretaker in the district court of Schlanders, Jennewein Ladurner. An extensive new building began under Jennewein Ladurner, of which the ground floor with the marble-framed entrance door on the north side, stone-framed window and door frames and a round corner bay have been preserved. The bay window sits over two figurative consoles and two bulging shells . Allegedly, the two console figures represent Jennewein Ladurner and his wife.

The coat of arms cartouche above the door and the inscription reminds of the client

"IHENNEWEIN LADURNER ZVMTHVRN HAVBTMAN 1598"

The floor plan corresponds to the central corridor principle, the arched house corridor crosses the entire building from north to south. The house has an open framed gable.

In the north-east corner there is a renaissance room with paneling with coffered ceilings. The entrance is a pilaster-framed room door with the inlaid inscription:

“YOU NEXT LADURNER Z. TH. 1598 "

In the middle corridor there is the inscription:

"Armueth sells Hochmuet 1598"

It was not until 1980–1997 that the first floor, which had remained unfinished until then, was completed as part of the overall renovation. The monument protection took place on October 24, 1980.

The property is on the Krankenhausstrasse, in the immediate vicinity of the Schlanders Hospital.
