The Lago di Roncone is a mountain lake in the Inner Judiciary in the province of Trento . It is located on the northeastern outskirts of Roncone , a fraction of the municipality of Sella Giudicarie .

The lake is nestled between the Adamello group in the west and the mountains of Val di Ledro in the east, which are part of the Lake Garda mountains . It was created by the alluvial cone of the Rio Andanà to the west, coming from the Valle di Bondone. In the past the lake was about twice as big. In order to gain arable land, the lake was drained by artificially created drains as early as the 13th century. In the middle of the 20th century, a wide artificial drain was created, which flows into the Rio Adanà after a few hundred meters and with which the eutrophication of the lake could be slowed due to the low water exchange.

Signs of slow silting can be seen at Lago di Roncone , characterized by the thick vegetation of reed plants such as reeds on its north bank.

The lakeshore is accessed by a loop trail, which also serves as a cycle path on the western bank.
