Turtle Rock Island

Turtle Rock Island, Lake Entiat, Washington

A well-known feature in Lake Entiat is Turtle Rock Island , located northeast of Lincoln Rock State Park. Originally part of the mainland on the south bank of the Columbia, this rock became an island when the lake formed. The US Highway 2 passed earlier through this area, which has been to the island, and the remains of the road can be seen on aerial photographs today. Today the island is a nature reserve and nursery for fish; there is only access by boat.
