Lamont is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County in the US state of Florida with 178 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Lamont is about 20 km south of Monticello and about 35 km east of Tallahassee . The CDP is crossed by US Highways 19 and 27 ( SR 20 ) on a shared route .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 178 inhabitants were distributed over 60 households. 37.6% of the population identified themselves as white, 58.4% as African American and 1.7% as Asian Americans . 2.2% said they belonged to several ethnic groups. 1.7% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 there were children under the age of 18 in 26.4% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 26.4% of all households. 72.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.47 people and the average family size was 2.90 people.

21.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 18.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 37.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 23.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 47 years. 46.1% of the population were male and 53.9% were female.
