Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Building Prize
The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Building Prize is an architecture prize that is awarded every two years and honors outstanding buildings in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
Promotion and organization
The state building award is jointly awarded by the Ministry for Energy, Infrastructure and Digitization (formerly the Ministry for Transport, Building and Regional Development), the Chamber of Architects and the Chamber of Engineers Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Eligible are architects and engineers with construction projects that have been completed in the past five years.
Since 2008, the prize has been awarded in the categories “Construction costs up to 500,000 euros” and “Construction costs above 500,000 euros”. The price is each based on a key theme. In 2012, for example, projects for new and existing buildings are to be awarded that meet high quality standards from an aesthetic, functional, economic and ecological point of view.
All architecture and engineering offices involved in the construction are awarded together with the client. The prize is endowed with a total of 10,000 euros. The two winners of the state building award will each receive 4,000 euros, with a total of 2,000 euros available for awards. If necessary, the jury can award special prizes. In 2012, the award ceremony took place at a festive event in the Pomeranian State Museum in Greifswald .
The award-winning works are shown in an exhibition.
