numbers

The number of applicants at the State Finance School in Bavaria fluctuated enormously. In 2003, more than 250 middle-class tax administration candidates were recruited, compared with 58 the following year. In 2008, 124 candidates began their training. Starting in 2009, the number of employees was increased to over 200 civil servant candidates per year in order to compensate for the retirement of the following years. In 2010, 208 junior staff were hired for the middle service of the tax administration. In 2012 more than 450 tax secretary candidates and more than 40 government secretary candidates were hired in the middle service, which has been known as the second qualification level in Bavaria since 2011. This was the year with the highest number of employees for a long time, which also pushed the capacity of the state finance school to its limits, which is why, despite the third recently completed guest house, candidates had to be distributed to hotels and other alternative accommodation. The number of hires continues to rise. In 2019, over 600 tax secretary candidates and over 100 government secretary candidates were hired.

The number of overnight stays rose from approx. 60,000 overnight stays in 2009 to over 186,000 overnight stays in 2019.

building

Classes take place in one of the 2 classroom buildings (main and combined building) spread over 35 classrooms, each with 28 workstations.

The guests are accommodated in four guest houses, which were completed in 1983, 1986, 2011 and 2018. The four houses together have a capacity of 703 beds in single rooms. On each floor of these guest houses there is also a common room and a communal kitchen, which are freely available to the candidates.

There are 285 outdoor parking spaces on the premises of the State Finance School, as well as 130 parking spaces in the underground car park of guest house 4, which was newly built in 2018, some of which are even equipped with e-car charging stations.

In the central building there is a library, a sauna and two leisure rooms equipped with billiard tables, table football and dartboards.

timeline

The state finance school (then still: "Reichssteuerschule") was originally located in Herrsching am Ammersee, where it was founded on August 1, 1935 in the "Andechser Hof" inn due to a lack of suitable rooms. However, in the same year on December 21, 1936, the groundbreaking ceremony for the "Reich Finance School" took place.

In 1937 the buildings were completed and put into operation.

In 1943, however, due to the war, training for tax officials had to be stopped again, and a hospital for war wounded was set up in the buildings .

This hospital was continued in 1945 by the American military government , which expanded it into a hospital . The training for the tax administration was therefore slowly started again in other places such as Furth im Wald , Oberstdorf and Munich .

In 1947, provisional finance schools were set up for careers in the middle and upper class in Pappenheim , Klingenberg am Main , Fürth , Tutzing and Haimhausen .

The Herrsching property was returned to the tax authorities on September 1, 1955. The resumption of operations as a state finance school (middle class) and as a customs school began on the same day with 100 bedrooms for 450 students in 12 classrooms.

An extension was completed in 1967 in order to curb the relocation to private quarters.

The number of trainees increased so enormously that in 1972 the customs school was relocated to Sigmaringen , which noticeably relieved the spatial situation, but could not prevent the rental of further private quarters.

1973 Ansbach was selected as the location for the future state finance school Bavaria.

In 1974 the planning contract went to the FBA Würzburg . The plan for the Bavarian State Finance School in Ansbach envisaged the accommodation of up to 500 training places , a gym and small playing fields.

Due to the tight budget situation in Bavaria, the plans had to be put on hold in 1975. In the same year, the state finance school was organizationally separated from the Bavarian University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Justice (senior service), each in the fields of tax and state finance administration.

In 1980 construction began.

In 1982 the guest house II was given the planning.

The central building with 10 classrooms and guest house I with a total of 350 beds were completed in the spring of 1983.

In 1986 the guest house II and the outdoor sports facilities were completed.

In 1992 the number of classrooms increased by four to 14.

To complete the sporting offer, the multi-purpose hall was handed over in 1995.

The further sharp drop in the number of trainees makes it impossible to keep the State Finance School in Bavaria as a pure training facility, and so from 1998 it will increasingly be included in the training of civil servants in the middle service of the tax administration.

In 1999, some redesigning measures began, so first the auditorium and the entrance area were redesigned upon registration.

In order to alleviate the shortage of parking spaces, these were expanded in 2000.

In 2001 a terrace was laid out in front of the cafeteria and the cafeteria expanded.

In 2003, the planning for a further classroom wing and a third guest house began.

In 2006 the guest houses were connected to the Internet via WLAN.

In 2007, eight normal rooms were converted into four rooms for disabled people for around 100,000 euros. In addition, new parking facilities are being created.

In 2008, an investment of 9.77 million euros was included in the budget, which provides for the construction of a third residential building and a second lecture hall building. Construction began in April 2008 and was completed in 2011. The new buildings were necessary because the good acceptance of further training events and the increasing number of training courses mean that the building is almost fully occupied.

In April 2016, the construction of another building for dormitories and classrooms began. The inauguration took place in September 2018.
