State school student representatives for North Rhine-Westphalia
The state- wide representation of schoolchildren in North Rhine-Westphalia ( LSV NRW for short , proper spelling of the state school student representation ) represents the interests of around 3 million schoolchildren in North Rhine-Westphalia . Its work is based on the North Rhine-Westphalian School Act , the statutes of the LSV NRW and its basic program.
tasks
The primary task of the nationwide student representation work (through the LSV) is to support and network the regional student representation work (through the BSV). In addition to this area of activity, the LSV contributes to the fulfillment of the tasks entrusted to it by the School Act as a representative of the interests of the Ministry for Schools and Continuing Education and promotes basic work.
Structure and organs
The LSV North Rhine-Westphalia is a representative for almost all types of schools, i.e. 3267 primary schools , 704 secondary schools , 557 secondary schools , 629 grammar schools , 220 comprehensive schools , 414 advanced training and vocational colleges , 730 special needs schools and 36 schools for the sick, i.e. a total of 6521 schools.
It consists of the following organs:
- State delegates' conference
- State Board
- State Secretariat
- State liaison teacher
- Finance committee
The State Delegate Conference (short: LDK) is the highest decision-making body of the LSV North Rhine-Westphalia. It adopts the guidelines of the LSV and makes final decisions on all its matters. At the LDK, the delegates of the district student councils (BSV) are entitled to vote, with each BSV being assigned a mandate for every 15,000 students who commence in the district. The LDK meets i. d. Usually three times a year for three days each time.
The district student councils are the associations of students in the districts or urban districts. At the meetings of the district student councils, also known as the district delegate conference , the individual schools have i. d. Usually one delegate for every 250 students or part thereof. The BDKs elect a board and a state delegation to represent the BSV at state level.
The state board consists of up to ten students elected by the LDK, of which at least five must be women. For this purpose, the state board can co-opt other students to support its work.
The state secretariat supports the state board in its work and looks after the LSV NRW office. The regional liaison teachers (Anke Venohr, Johannes Heck, Felix von Hatzfeld) have an advisory role within the association.
The Finance Committee (proper name: State School Student Representation North Rhine-Westphalia - Der Finanzausschuß eV) is an independent association that administers the finances of the State School Student Representation of North Rhine-Westphalia. Members of the finance committee are the 10 state board members, up to four state liaison teachers and up to two other students elected by the LDK. The finance committee elects a management team (board of directors within the meaning of association law). This consists of two students and two teachers.
The state student council of North Rhine-Westphalia is not a member state of the federal student conference .
