State election in Carinthia 2023

The next election to the state parliament in Carinthia must take place in 2023 at the latest. However, an earlier election after the premature dissolution of the state parliament is possible.

The state elections in Carinthia in 2018 took place on March 4, 2018. Before that, the Carinthian state parliament was last elected on March 3, 2013 . The turnout was 68.63 percent and a total of 297,918 votes were cast.

In the state elections in 2018, the SPÖ became the strongest party with 47.94%. The following also moved into the state parliament: the FPÖ with 22.96 %, the ÖVP with 15.45% and the Carinthia team with 5.64%.

The Greens , the Alliance Future Austria , the Neos , as well as Responsibility Earth did not make it into the state parliament. In June 2017, proportional representation was abolished in Carinthia , which is why a coalition between the SPÖ and the ÖVP was concluded in the state government of Kaiser II .
