history

The place name has changed over the centuries. For a long time the village was also called Lengsfeld. Langenfeld was first mentioned in a document on February 13, 1297. The church was built in the 14th century. From this time on, the Thuringian landgraves had feudal rights in Salzungen. They promoted the intensification of the economy and thus also agriculture through further land development and the registration of settlements. The proximity to the city of Bad Salzungen and the Werra river, as well as the forests, had a decisive influence on the life of the rural population.

Almost everyone of their own Facebook friends had apparently already visited the place, which had already received 2.5 million likes .
