Larissa Grigoryevna Kuklina ( Russian Лариса Григорьевна Куклина ; born December 12, 1990 in Labytnangi as Larissa Grigoryevna Kuznetsova ) is a Russian biathlete . With the relay she won two world championship titles in the youth and junior division in 2009 and 2010. In 2019 she made her debut in the Biathlon World Cup , where she also won her first race with the relay.
Kuznetsova's career was subsequently interrupted by several injury breaks. It wasn't until the 2012/13 season that she qualified for the Russian IBU Cup team. In the second highest international biathlon competition series, she was one of the strongest athletes: She reached seventh place in the overall standings, her best individual result was a second place in the Beitostølen sprint , in which only Ann Kristin Flatland beat her. With Tatiana Semjonowa , Sergei Klyachin and Alexander Pechonkin , she won the bronze medal in the mixed relay at the 2013 Winter Universiade . In the following winters, Kuznetsova (after her wedding in 2014: Kuklina) received sporadic appearances in the IBU Cup and competed at the 2016 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Otepää , where she finished eighth and ninth in sprint and pursuit.
In December 2018, Kuklina started again in the IBU Cup after four years. In Obertilliach she finished fifth in the sprint as the best result. A month later, she made her debut in Oberhof in the Biathlon World Cup as the third runner in the Russian relay. She took over the race from Yevgenia Pavlova and Margarita Wassiljewa , 14 seconds behind, and after two faultless shots handed over to the final runner, Ekaterina Jurlowa-Percht , who crossed the finish line first, tied with the leading German relay . Kuklina also celebrated her first World Cup victory on her debut in the World Cup. In the further course of the season Kuklina was nominated for the 2019 World Championships . In her only use in the 15-kilometer individual race, she was sixteenth as the best athlete in her country. In 2019/20 Kuklina was included in the Russian World Cup team throughout the entire season and was ranked 21st in the overall ranking. In three competitions she reached the top ten places, her best result was a fifth place in the Östersund singles .
