Sergei Nikolajewitsch Kljatschin ( Russian Сергей Николаевич Клячин ; born November 20, 1986 in Tchaikovsky , Perm Region , Soviet Union ) is a Russian biathlete .

Sergei Kljatschin was initially only used sporadically internationally. At the Winter Universiade 2007 in Cesana San Sicario he came in 28th place in the sprint, did not finish the pursuit race and was 13th in the mass start race. Later in the year he also took part in the junior competitions of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Otepää . In the sprint he came in eighth place and was able to improve in the pursuit race based on it up to the bronze medal rank behind Krassimir Anew and Dmitri Blinow . The greatest success celebrated Klyachkin at the Russian Championships 2009 in Uwat . With Vitaly Noritsyn , Maxim Ichsanow and Artyom Ushakov he won the relay race.

Klyachin had his international breakthrough in the 2011/12 season . The Russian made regular appearances in the IBU Cup and immediately won points in Idre as 20th in a sprint. In his second race, an individual in Ridnaun , he reached the podium for the first time in third place, in Obertilliach he won a mixed relay race alongside Anastassija Sagoruiko , Yekaterina Schumilowa and Viktor Wassiljew . At the 2012 European Championships in Osrblie , Kljatschin just missed a medal in fourth place in the individual, winning the bronze medal in the sprint behind Alexei Wolkow and Artem Pryma as well as with Nikolai Jakuschow , Alexander Schirny and Alexei Wolkow in the relay race. In the pursuit race, he fell back to ninth place. At the end of the season in Altenberg he won his first individual race in the IBU Cup with a single. Towards the end of the 2011/12 season Klyachin made his debut in Khanty-Mansiysk in the biathlon World Cup and missed the points in both races as 48th of the sprint and 46th of the pursuit. At the end of the next season , he was back in Sochi in the World Cup, where he scored his first World Cup points as the 38th of an individual.
