Lars Rasmussen (born April 9, 1976 in Hillerød , Denmark ) is a Danish handball coach . In his playing days, the left winger ran for the Danish national team .

Lars Rasmussen started playing handball at Lyngby HK. He later came to Virum-Sorgenfri HK , where he made his debut in the Danish first division. With the Copenhagen suburban club he won the Danish championship in 1997; in the 2001/02 season he was the league's top scorer. However, when his club had to file for bankruptcy in the same year, Rasmussen went to local rivals Ajax Farum. There he was also top scorer ; However, he was now looking for a new challenge and after only one year moved on to GWD Minden in the German handball league . He stayed there for two years, but won no other titles. In 2005 he finally returned to Denmark, where he joined the Tvis Holstebro team. In 2008 he won the Danish Cup with Holstebro. In the summer of 2010 he left Holstebro and ended his career.

Lars Rasmussen has made 86 appearances for the Danish national team. For a long time he was at most the third choice in the national team behind Nikolaj Bredahl Jacobsen and Lars Christiansen ; only after the resignation of the former was Rasmussen more active. At the European Championships in Norway in 2008 , he became European champions with his country ; at the 2007 World Cup and the 2006 European Championship , he won bronze with Denmark .

Rasmussen became assistant coach of the Horsens HK women's team in 2010 . He later took over the women's team and the men's team at Horsens HK. In the summer of 2013 he took over as coach of the women's team at Vendsyssel Håndbold . From July 1, 2015 he coached the first division club Ringkøbing Håndbold . In summer 2017 he moved to the Hungarian first division side Siófok KC . From the summer of 2018 he worked as an assistant coach at the Danish club KIF Kolding . In February 2019 he was promoted to coach and held this position until the end of the 2018/19 season.
