The Lauana Valley

Lauana has 2686 inhabitants (2015), of which 1327 are men and 1359 women. The population density is 433.0 inhabitants / km². There are 496 households in the Suco. Almost 77% of the population name Mambai as their mother tongue. Almost 22% speak Tetum Prasa , a Kemak minority .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Lauana had an area of ​​5.18 km². Now it is 6.20 km². The Suco is located in the southwest of the Letefoho administrative office. To the north lies the Suco Catraileten and east of the Suco Catrai Caraic . In the south, Lauana borders the Atsabe administrative office with its Sucos Leimea Leten and Baboi Leten .

The overland road that connects Letefoho in the north with Atsabe in the south runs through the Suco . The places Lauana , Kirilelo and Roulo ( Roulu ) are located on it. To the west are the villages of Raebou , Luhanaro , Lemiluhi ( Limiluhi ) and Rigoa , to the east the villages of Hatugeo ( Hatugueo ), Alosai ( Alosain ) and Leubasa . There are two primary schools and a medical station in the Suco.

In the Suco there are the ten Aldeias Alosai , Grotu , Hatugeo , Lemiluhi , Leubasa , Liabe , Quiri Lelo , Raebou / Ainapa , Raebou / Sloi and Roulo .

In the 2004/2005 elections , Saturnino DD Soares was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Carolino Madeira .
