Baboi Leten ( Baboe Leten , Boboe Leten , "Upper Baboi ") is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Atsabe ( municipality of Ermera ).

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Baboi Leten had an area of 32.15 km². Now it is 32.00 km². The Suco is in the northeast of the Atsabe administrative office. To the south is the Suco Baboi Craic and to the west of the Suco Leimea Leten . In the north, Baboi Leten borders the Letefoho administrative office with its sucos Catrai Caraic and Lauana . In the east are the administrative offices of Hatu-Builico with the Suco Nuno-Mogue and Ainaro with the Suco Manutaci belonging to the municipality of Ainaro . The river Coulala rises at the border with Catrai Caraic , which then follows the border to the west until it joins the Slau river, which rises in Baboi Leten, to form the Magapu . This crosses the Suco, where it follows the western part of the border with Baboi Craic. He belongs to the system of Lóis . In Suco lies the summit of Tatamailau ( 2963 m ), East Timor's highest mountain, and Doramelau ( 2.857 m ), its secondary summit. The ascent to Tatamailau is made from the neighboring Nuno-Mogue.
The country road that leads from Atsabe to Bobonaro in the south crosses the west of Baboi Craic . The town of Raelau lies on her . To the east of this are the villages of Liabe and Coilequi ( Koileki ) and to the west of Sucos the place Ilat . There is a primary school in Ilat, the Escola Primaria No. 174 Baboe Leten .
The four Aldeias Coilequi , Ilat , Liabe and Raelau are located in the Suco .
Residents
The Suco has a population of 1106 (2015), 577 men and 529 women. The population density is 34.6 inhabitants / km². There are 185 households in the Suco. Over 81% of the population name Kemak as their mother tongue. Over 15% speak Mambai , almost 3 % speak Tetum Prasa and a minority speak Bunak .
history
On August 30, 1999, on the day of the independence referendum in East Timor , pro-Indonesian militias attacked a polling station in Baboi Leten with firearms and stones and killed two local UNAMET employees . A third escaped. The Indonesian soldiers present did not intervene to protect the polling station.
politics
In the elections of 2004/2005 was Geraldo da Silva Gomes elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
