Tiarlelo ( Tirlelo , Tiar Lelo , Ciar Lelo ) is an East Timorese place and Suco in the administrative office of Atsabe ( municipality of Ermera ).

The place

The place Tiarlelo is in the east of the Sucos, at an altitude of 1104  m . Here is the primary school of sucos, the Escola Tiarlelo . Tiarlelo is the cultural center of Atsabe, as the coronel messenger of the region lived here. However, in some oral traditions the coronel messengers of this family are referred to as usurpers , who took over the rule of Laclo and Leimea .

490 inhabitants live in Tiarlelo (2015), 245 of them are men and 245 are women. The population density is 58.6 inhabitants / km². There are 87 households in the Suco. Over 97% of the population name Kemak as their mother tongue. Minorities speak Bunak or Tetum Prasa .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Tiarlelo had an area of ​​9.10 km². Now there are 8.36 km². The Suco is located in the northwest of the Atsabe administrative office. To the north is the Suco Leimea Leten , east of the Suco Malabe , southeast of the Suco Atara , south of the Suco Batu Mano and west of the Suco Laubono . The border to Leimea Leten is formed by the Magapu River , the border to Laubono and Batu Mano is formed by the Baluani into which the Magapu flows. They are tributaries of the Lóis .

In addition to Tiarlelo in the east, there is also the village of Lebutilau in the northwest in the Suco .

In the Suco there are the three Aldeias Tiarlelo-Ilat , Cotabot (Kota Bot) and Soilacudu .

history

In early January 2003, Tiarlelo and Laubono were ambushed by up to 15 bandits masked with balaclavas with automatic weapons and old Indonesian uniforms, 25 km from the border with Indonesia . Three people were killed and five injured. The East Timorese Defense Forces then sent 180 soldiers to the region for police duties. Members of Colimau 2000 - an organization founded by former underground youth activists - were accused of being involved in the robberies that killed seven people. Mass arrests followed, but the courts released all suspects.

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Miguel dos Santos elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
