Laure Pequegnot (born September 30, 1975 in Échirolles , Département Isère ) is a former French ski racer .

biography

Her specialty was the slalom . In 1994 she became Junior World Champion in this discipline . She won three slalom world cup races in her career and won the slalom world cup in the 2001/02 season . At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , she won the silver medal in slalom. Due to various injuries and bad form, she was unable to build on her performance in the following seasons. At the 2005 World Cup in Bormio , she won the bronze medal in the team competition . From 1996 to 2005 she was French champion five times .

After Pequegnot tore a cruciate ligament in October 2006 , she announced her retirement from ski racing in February 2007.
