Career
society
The career of Marinescu began in 2002, when he was in the squad for the first team of Petrolul Ploiesti in the second Romanian league, the Divizia B came. In the first year he came to ten inserts and rose with his club in the Divizia A on. In the 2003/04 season he and his team had to be relegated again after just one year. He stayed with Petrolul and tried to return to the House of Lords with the club in the following years. However, this was mostly just missed. In the 2005/06 season he moved with his team in the Romanian Cup in the semi-finals, but lost there to the eventual winner Rapid Bucharest . In the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons he achieved the best hit yield of his career with seven and ten goals respectively.
In the summer of 2009, the reigning Romanian champion Unirea Urziceni signed Marinescu. He was only irregularly part of the club's squad in League 1, but did not get a chance in the Champions League . He finished the 2009/10 season after 15 appearances and two goals as runner-up behind CFR Cluj . At the beginning of September 2010, record champions Steaua Bucharest brought him to the capital. Was he initially still a supplementary player at Steaua, he became a regular in the second half of the 2010/11 season . At the end of the season, however, it was rarely taken into account. He also missed his club's cup win in the final against Dinamo Bucharest .
After only one year in Bucharest, Marinescu moved to league competitor Universitatea Cluj in summer 2011 . There he became a regular midfielder in the first half of the 2011/12 season, but lost this status again in the second half of the season. In the league he reached a place in the front midfield with Cluj. In summer 2012 he returned to Petrolul Ploieşti. There he became a fixture in midfield in the 2012/13 season and temporarily captain of the team before he sustained an injury in May 2013 that brought him a break of almost a year. As a result, he also missed the 2013 cup final . He returned to the team in April 2014.
Marinescu stayed with Petrolul until relegation in 2016 . He then joined FC Voluntari .
National team
Marinescu played a game for the Romanian national team when national coach Victor Pițurcă called him in January 2012 in his squad for a friendly against Turkmenistan and replaced Dorin Goga at half-time .
