The Lavanttal-Arena is a football stadium in the Austrian municipality of Wolfsberg in the state of Carinthia . It is the home of the Wolfsberger AC football club , where he has been playing in the Bundesliga , the top division of the country, since it was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2012 . The facility offers 7,300 seats (3,000 covered seats and 4,300 standing places, of which 3,300 are covered).
history
The facility opened in 1984. After the grandstand was completed, the stadium was opened for the 1988 Olympic qualification match between Austria and Finland. In 2012 the stadium was rebuilt after Wolfsberger AC had been promoted to the Austrian Bundesliga. In this a new covered grandstand seats and in the southeast corner of a standing terrace for about 1,000 camp followers built the visiting club, so at the beginning of the 2012/13 season total found 6,500 spectators. The total costs for the expansion to a total capacity of 7,300 spectators and further renovations amounted to 2.5 million euros.
Sports facilities
The sports center is about 1 km south of Wolfsberg and also has an athletics facility around the field. In addition, there are two training fields, two small courts and facilities for high jump, long jump, shot put, etc. as well as an all-weather field for volleyball, tennis, handball and basketball. All systems can be operated with floodlights .
