" Lebens-Künstler " was a celebrity talk show that was broadcast four to five times a year on ORF from 1995 to 2008 and was moderated by the former mayor of Vienna and former television director Helmut Zilk . The recording took place on the 20th floor of the Vienna Ringturm , a building belonging to Wiener Städtische Versicherung , of which Zilk was the chairman of the supervisory board. The talk show had around 220,000 to 300,000 viewers. The episode with Karl Moik reached 455,000 viewers.

From the beginning of the series on October 4, 1995 to April 2002, Erwin Fischer , 2002/2003 Karin Zimmermann-Steiner, and Herbert Sklenka from 2003 to 2006 were responsible for broadcasting at ORF . From 2006 to 2008 Karin Zimmermann-Steiner directed the show again. In 1995 the editorship was in the hands of Jutta Stürgkh-Kofler, her successor Harald Luiki supervised "Lebens-Künstler" from 1996 to 2008. Directed from 1995 to 2002 by Herbert Grunsky and from 2002 to 2008 by Petra Vogt.
